MuPiBox-NG 0.2.0-alpha.32 – Parental camera approval, listening status fixes and monthly notices
NEW: PARENT-APPROVED CAMERA ACCESS
- In Admin → Parental Controls → Camera for Community Apps, parents can permanently approve camera access for individual installed apps with the camera permission. Once approved, the child can use that app without confirming the camera separately at every launch.
- The live camera indicator and immediate Stop button remain visible. Camera access stays limited to the local touchscreen; remote Admin browser previews cannot access the camera. Apps without parental preapproval still require the on-screen confirmation.
- The approval can be revoked. Updating, reinstalling or uninstalling an app clears its permanent camera approval, preventing new code from inheriting the previous consent.
- Real USB/UVC webcam acceptance testing on Raspberry Pi hardware remains open; the relevant unit and browser tests passed.
FIX: MANUAL LISTENING STATUS AND FILTERS
- Marking an audiobook as heard or unheard refreshes its displayed status and filter counts after saving. The status menu now reflects the actual manual selection.
- The UI distinguishes genuinely unheard titles from titles whose listening status has not yet loaded, and stale asynchronous requests no longer override recent changes.
- Regression coverage includes larger libraries and manual heard/unheard transitions. Previously released full-track counts and completion badge fixes remain included.
CHANGE: OPTIONAL MONTHLY ADMIN NOTICES
- Donation reminders and voluntary technical-statistics reminders are now two independent Admin pop-ups, each shown no more than once per calendar month, and each independently switchable off in About MuPiBox.
- Both reminders stay out of the child's playback UI. Disabling a reminder does not change technical statistics consent; hardware statistics remain opt-in and their reporting schedule is unchanged.
TESTING / UPGRADES
- Includes the previous alpha.31 improvements and data compatibility. No migration of user media, saved plugin photos or listening positions is intended.
- Test the camera permissions and revocation with FotoSpaß and an actual USB UVC webcam, as well as the monthly reminder behavior and the listening-status UI on a Raspberry Pi; see TESTKATALOG.md.
- This is an alpha build. Make a backup before installing. Please report the full NG version, Pi model, plugin version and reproduction steps for failures.
