New here?

Four small steps. One music box.

Start simple. You do not need to buy every optional part or learn technical terms first.

1

Choose your version

NG is the new generation with touchscreen, physical buttons and optional RFID cards. Classic remains available.

2

Pick your hardware

Start with a Raspberry Pi, a compatible screen, storage and sound. Batteries and RFID can come later.

3

Install NG

Write 64-bit DietPi to your card, use the matching setup instructions and turn on your Pi.

4

Add your music

Open the box administration page and add local music, web radio or a supported provider.

Which MuPiBox suits you?

Local files, Spotify Premium, radio, podcasts, ARD Sounds and other supported sources.

Play offline

Keep local media and selected downloads available without an internet connection.

A child-friendly experience

Parental controls, listening times and large controls. Choose what each box can access.

Make it yours

Change themes and layouts. Add a MuPiHAT, speakers or accessories if you want.

Control it from your phone

Manage your box in a browser and use the optional MuPiBox app.

Stable is next — We're preparing NG for its first stable version. Until then, the public test build may still change; make a backup before updating.
