Bug fixes since Alpha 12
- Correct iPhone photo orientation in the Qt Quick gallery using Image.autoTransform, which applies EXIF rotation metadata.
- Show complete photos at base scale in the fullscreen gallery and photo screensaver using Image.PreserveAspectFit instead of PreserveAspectCrop. Letterboxing is expected when photo and display aspect ratios differ.
- Apply EXIF orientation to gallery album thumbnails too. Tiles intentionally retain PreserveAspectCrop so the thumbnail grid stays visually consistent.
- Preserve the existing double-buffered image transitions, optional 25/40% extra portrait zoom, and approximately 14% Ken Burns motion. The optional zoom and motion can still trim image edges.
Tests
- Automated regression checks for EXIF transforms, the distinct fit/crop policies, existing portrait zoom and Ken Burns animation.
- Dedicated hardware acceptance steps for rotated iPhone originals, fullscreen framing and animation.
Reporter verified the QML correction on affected hardware. Please retest with iPhone EXIF orientations and mixed portrait/landscape albums. This is an alpha release.
